Rue des Renards 38, 1000 Bruxelles, Belgium
German South West Africa, 1905. The disillusioned soldier Siegfried Bock’s path crosses that of Lisbeth Löwenstein, a poor Jewess who has to marry a German settler she’s hardly met, the Damara man Mordegai Guruseb who escaped from a concentration camp, and the pseudoscientist Albert Pitzer. As fates intertwine their humanity is severely tested.
